Description: The manager of industry and customer events is the primary contact for all North America tradeshows. This individual will manage an external agency for event logistics and serve as the primary contact for all internal groups. A strong background in event marketing including integrated marketing techniques, creative development, execution, measurement and budget management is required.

This individual must have the ability to work with a wide variety of people including senior executives, sales VPs, product managers, sales engineers, customers and partners to understand their requirements and deliver actions and coordinate efforts. Must be able to balance priorities and executive requests against event timing and cost. Responsible for coordinating interactive elements including all outbound communications, such as email, direct mail campaigns, website content, and sales tools.

Responsibilities:
***Manage salesforce.com’s participation in industry events, including tradeshows, conferences and speaking engagements ***Plan and execute all logistics, including booth and exhibit orders, sponsorship deliverables, collateral managements, attendance and lead retrieval ***Work with and manage external agency to deliver on event planning and serve as liaison between agency and internal clients ***Create and maintain budgets and schedules for participation and support cost control ***Communicate to sales and internal salesforce.com departments regarding planning and summarizing events ***Utilize salesforce.com’s own application to set up, measure, track and manage all event campaigns, registrants, attendees and pipeline impact ***Research new industry events and speaking opportunities in North America

Required Skills/Experience:

Bachelor's degree
2 - 4 year's event management experience, preferable with high-tech or Internet companies
Experience with high-profile, large events and sponsorship packages
Experience with tradeshow management in the U.S.
Strong project management and execution
Experience with event budgets, contracts for venues, logistics, agendas, catering, event registration and promotion
Ability to prioritize work effectively in order to meet critical deadlines
Exceptional organizational skills
Strong written and oral communication skills
Excellent PC skills, MS-Excel, MS-Word, MS-PowerPoint.
Must be a creative thinker, eager about initiating and taking on various projects
Willingness to travel
